Definition of basic UL aircraft

Category is defined only by MTOW and stall speed 1:

  • MTOW: 544 kg (1,200 pounds)
  • VS0: 39 knots (45 mph) IAS, or less at MTOW

There is also one important limitation - passengers are not allowed, although the plane can have two seats. Only two pilots can fly together or pilot with instructor.
